Head Covering - My Testimony

source
Hi everyone! I 'm so sorry I haven't had the chance to update my blog sooner! I've been super busy, packing, cleaning, and all the other stuff that comes with moving :P But that doesn't mean you guys aren't in my thoughts ♥! I'm hoping to post some before and after pics of some of the rooms in our new house. We are going to be repairing, repainting, and of course decorating the whole house. It's gonna be fun!!!
Ever since I posted a post on modest fashion, I've had a few girls ask me where I stand on the issue of head covering, one of whom asked for me to share how I came to start wearing them, and my convictions on this issue.
When I was around 5 or 6, my Mom became convicted to cover her head during times of worship because of 1 Corinthians 11:3-15.  She started to cover my hair as well. As time went on, we realized that in order to fully obey 1 Cor. 11:5,13, we would need to cover our heads daily. At first, my Dad wasn't sure whether he agreed with our convictions, but eventually, he grew to agree and appreciate them. We have experimented with several kinds of head coverings. The styles we like best look something like this :

Oops!

About two weeks ago, I published a post called " All natural homemade face and body moisturizer ", which I had been working on. Unfortunately, it was in my drafts folder, so it was posted under the date in which it had originally been started. Meaning any other posts I had already published would still show up as my most recent posts. Long story short, it ended up being posted before " Ideas For Recycling Odd Socks  " . Just wanted to let you guys know that it's my most recent post, other than the one letting everybody know about Sarah's giveaway. I would love for you to visit it!!!
Sorry if my grammar is a bit choppy, my head isn't wanting to work :P, and I'm not feeling to great. Hugs,

Ideas For Recycling Odd Socks

Hey y'all!

You'll have to forgive me if I speak (or rather write ;) a bit southern, I'm a southerner, and it's just kinda how I talk :) I hope you all don't mind!
A few years ago, I was given a book called " Lost Sock! 200 Clever Ways to Use Your Single Socks"". It inspires those who have single socks (I'm not the only one who has that problem! :) to recycle them. Today, I hope to share a few ideas from that book with you.

The amazing book! You can order it from amazon.com

1. If you have a dog, try tying  3 or 4 single socks together, knotting the ends securely.Tada! Now you can play tug-o-war with your puppy.
2. If you're in a more mischievous mood, you can stuff a bone or some treats inside a sock, then tie the ends. Have fun watching your dog go CRAZY trying to get to them!
3. If you want a toy you can play fetch with, put a tennis ball in the toe of the sock, tie a knot, put in another ball, and then tie another knot. Voila! You are now ready to play fetch.
4. If you have a cat, stuff a small sock into another small sock, tie a knot, and attach a string or old shoelace to the ends. Pull it around the house, and your cat will be in hot pursuit. You can also tie it to a door knob so that it dangles down, so the cat can bat at it.
5.If you have some catnip on hand, pack a sock with it and a few other small socks, tying or sewing the ends together.
Okay, for those of you who don't have pets, here are a few more ideas.
6. If you are fixing to get on the phone, and would rather not be interrupted by your darling little siblings, hide around 25 socks, one with a special treat inside, and have the kids try to find them all. The winner is whoever finds the sock with the treat inside.
7. To make a sock jump rope, tie approximately 15 long socks together, or for something a little fancier, cut off the toes and sew a tube out of a variety of colored socks.
8. You can make a sock puppet by slipping a sock over your hand, and then drawing a face on it with a sharpy marker.
9. Fill a sock with stones and then tie the end for a small doorstop.
10. Instead of a coaster, slip the toe end of a sock over the bottom of a drinking glass in place of a coaster.

I hope you all were able to get some helpful ideas out of these suggestions :) Have fun!!!
    Abby Sue♥

All of these ideas are taken from "Lost Sock! 200 Clever Ways to Use Your Single Socks", with  a few slight alterations.
